DPC Watchdog BSOD - Microsoft Community


hey guys/gals, 

i need you.  i've been getting random bsod dpc watchdog errors.  did fresh install of windows 10 within past 2 weeks.  believe i've included info need, if did please don't hesitate ask.

analyzing files , when complete. meanwhile here methods fix issue.

sure running latest available bios, chipset drivers, , major drivers. error can caused incompatible 3rd party antivirus , other startup programs , drivers. of course there other possibilities.

file explorer - right click drive - properties - tools - error checking -
check - scan drive

or

command prompt of windows 10 disk (boot it) :

chkdsk /f /r
(space after k , before / , after f , before / )

reboot

sfc /scannow
(space after c , before / )

reboot

if had 3rd party antivirus on os upgraded or if have 1 uninstall , run maker's removal tool. use windows defender in windows 8/8.1/10 full antivirus. despite hype out there windows defender , windows firewall true superstars.

windows key + x - command prompt (admin)

sfc /scannow

note if shows uncorrected errors - below regardless.

when completes run these :

dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

note if shows uncorrected errors - below regardless.

restart computer.

sure running latest available bios , drivers.

check system maker (motherboard maker custom systems) updates bios, low level chipset drivers, , major on-board , separate device drivers. run driverview - set view hide microsoft drivers - update without dump in name.

driverview - free - utility displays list of device drivers loaded on system. each driver in list, additional useful information displayed: load address of driver, description, version, product name,
company created driver, , more.

drivers check system maker fallbacks , device maker's current. right click start button - device manager - display adapter - write down make , complete model of video adapter - double click - driver's tab - write down version info. click update driver (this may not ms far behind certifying drivers) - right click - uninstall - reboot refresh driver stack.

repeat network - network card (nic), wifi, sound, mouse , keyboard if 3rd party own software , drivers , other major device drivers have.

go system maker's site (dell, hp, toshiba examples) (as rollback) , device maker's site (realtek, intel, nvidia, ati examples) , latest versions. (look bios, chipset, , software updates @ system maker's site while there.)

download - save - go put them - right click - run ad admin - reboot after each installation.

check in device manager - drivers tab sure version installing shows up. because drivers rollback before latest installed (sound drivers particularly this) install driver - reboot - check sure installed , repeat needed.

repeat @ device makers - btw @ device makers not run scanner - check manually model.

manually @ manufacturer's sites drivers - , device maker's sites.
