Windows 10 not detecting Nvidia Graphics Card - Microsoft Community

hi,

(laptop) specs:

asus r558uf-xo044t

intel i5-6200u, intel hd graphics + nvidia gt930m, 8gb ram.

windows 10 home single language (version: 1703; build: 15063.608)

so few months ago switched windows 10 ubuntu. wasn't using nvidia drivers while using ubuntu. (fresh) installed windows 10 tonight (not dual-boot; ran updates after install) reason nvidia card not showing in display adapters section of device manager. , nvidia driver installer says "this graphics driver not find compatible graphics hardware". last time used windows never encountered issue.

what i've tried:

  1. attempt install latest nvidia drivers.
  2.  attempt install nvidia drivers available asus' website
  3.  attempt install latest nvidia drivers in safe mode.
  4.  attempt install latest nvidia drivers after "bcdedit /set pciexpress forcedisable" (source)
  5.  attempt install latest nvidia drivers after installing (same/most recent available) bios.

i've been getting same error message, installation not proceed further. can't think of else. appreciated.

hi, i'll try this. have switchable graphics working in windows 10 , ubuntu? enabled in bios or uefi firmware presently? isn't appearing in device manager may mean it's disabled or not being detected. may need reseat card detected. did obtain nvidia (which governs switching when installed last, adding controls in software) asus support downloads webpage precise model or serial number? double check again. want latest 1 posted driver disks outdated. did windows update offer nvidia driver? feel free ask questions , let know how goes. i'll keep working until it's resolved.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
