why can't i close the virtual assistant and it locks up Edge when - Microsoft Community

why can't close virtual assistant , locks edge when clicked on, happens on ms support page

hi rob,


the virtual agent/assistant on microsoft page set automatically appear , there no option close it, set stay on page.

furthermore, though appearing, should still able access page or other category on it. know if you've received error messages when trying access other categories on while virtual agent/assistant on it. can send screenshot if has error? still able close edge?

if edge won't close, suggest closing using task manager. in doing so, close microsoft edge virtual assistant window/page , other websites open.

kindly follow steps below it:

method 1

  1. press ctrl+shift+esc on keyboard.
  2. task manager should show up, choose microsoft edge.
  3. click end task as shown on picture below , close.
  4. if you're not able access task manager using ctrl+shift+esc options. please refer method 2 below.

method 2

  1. press ctrl+alt+delete, , click task manager.
  2. click microsoft edge choose end task.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
