Additional problems after Windows 10 update completed in August 2017 - Microsoft Community

my original problem (edge not run) has been resolved after 1 user suggested disabling "trusteer endpoint protection". i'm still not totally sure how important program "protection" , therefore, although have "edge" working again, has been @ cost of apprehension on disabling program "protection" in name.

last night, discovered can no longer use text module in photoshop elements 15. (error message: "could not complete request because prevented text engine being initialized"). in searching answers problem (which haven't found), 1 user mentioned since update, epson scanner program no longer load. have epson scanner checked , found same problem.

i have no reason doubt virtually everyone's opinion 3 problems have been caused update. hesitant revert windows 10 before update because installation took 2 hours more importantly, don't have idea of additional protection or other improvements update provides.

i need (over , above suggested wife when makes statement).

corrupted or damaged system files 1 of many possible reasons why issue happening. let's try scanning computer using system file checker tool , dism. follow steps on articles below:

method 1: system file checker tool (sfc)
system file checker utility in windows allows users scan corruptions in windows system files , restore corrupted files.

method 2: dism or system update readiness tool
dism checks windows updates , service packs may fail install if there corruption errors.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
