Windows Sign in and slow performance issues following update KB4038788 - Microsoft Community


this update failed , since 16 sep 17 have significant sign issues when waking hp laptop sleep.  when click on screen bring password fades after 10-15 seconds returns background picture in full bright colour.  way log in restart/shut down computer.  inconvenient!!!!

further this, ended manually downloading update thinking may fix issue - no.  issue remains runs slow.  have undertaken cleanup , disc defrag without changes functionality.

please advise solution problem have never had problems previous windows versions until current update!!  else having particular issue?  see people having various problems following update.

corrupted system files after recent update 1 of many possible reasons why issue happening. let's try scan computer using system file checker tool , dism. follow steps on articles below:

method 1: system file checker tool (sfc)
system file checker utility in windows allows users scan corruptions in windows system files , restore corrupted files.

method 2: dism or system update readiness tool
dism checks windows updates , service packs may fail install if there corruption errors.
