USB Devices continually disconnect and reconnect, as well as the - Microsoft Community


i have been having issue usb device, specifically, usb network adapters, continually disconnect, reconnect, reinstall first time setup brand new device, , repeat. has started doing since yesterday (7/12/17). don't know why, or how doing this. thought network adapter had got new 1 better, nope. have same exact issue. have gone great lengths try , fix this, including going device manager, uninstalling it, restarting completely, , plugging in again. hit , miss connection. example, today, booted pc , seemed work perfectly. shut down few hours because had go out of house. come back, turn on, , starts disconnect wifi, computer, reconnect, reconnect wifi, while reinstalling first time setup, , repeating process 10 20 minutes @ time. settle down, , work 5 minutes , start continually disconnecting , reconnecting. please, if can me, have been trying fix past hour. if helps, went event viewer, , looked @ system find this. not think related issue, still putting out there. appreciate kind of insight fix this. note: left adapter unplugged 15 minutes, , plugged in , seems working great now. having issue device plugged of pc, have no issues plugged front of pc. experiment see if usb ports in may faulty or something. models of usb network adapters have been having issues linksys wusb6300 , netgear a6210. thing should mention, did not start happening until got "windows 10 creator's update" popup. went through thinking wouldn't big deal , it's update windows, might it. part or of cause issue.

issue you're experiencing might due hardware fault.

since you've mentioned connecting usb devices front ports aren't creating issue, problem might ports. having said that, appreciate if can give update on how go using front usb ports.

in meantime, suggest install latest updates windows latest fix issues might encounter while using older operating system version.

you can run hardware , devices troubleshooter find , repair problems devices , hardware:

  1. right-click start icon, select control panel.
  2. choose large icons option view drop down list found on upper-right part of control panel window.
  3. locate select troubleshooting.
  4. click view all left pane.
  5. locate , click hardware , devices to run troubleshooter follow next steps.
