Resolution 1280x960 not listed in Display Settings Windows 10 - Microsoft Community

yesterday morning monitor screen went black, came on, , out of resolution. resolution need acer monitor 1280x960, no found in current display settings. i've updated drivers , followed procedures have been listed on both microsoft , hp websites. monitor's drive date current manufacturer's drive version. looking @ forum, there seem great deal of people experiencing same issue within last few days. how our resolutions back? thank help.
option 1:
open start > settings > system > display
make sure recommended settings selected scale , layout , screen resolution.
thing can try:
uninstall display driver restart
boot windows 10 desktop
press windows key + x
click device manager
expand display adapters
right click current display adapter
click properties
click driver tab
click rollback driver if option available
if not
right click current display adapter
click uninstall
exit device manager
restart
recommend uninstall kb4048955
press windows key + r
type: appwiz.cpl
hit enter
click view installed updates
select recent update
(this update want uninstall kb4048955)
right click click uninstall.
restart see if stability restored.
update might try install again. so, try blocking it.
there option or work around block updates or hardware drivers might cause problems?
yes, microsoft has released kb update (kb3073930) let users block or hide windows or driver updates.

if icons , toolbars, go start > settings > system > display
click in scale , layout list box, try scale such 125 see if works or play around custom scaling.

perform repair upgrade
