What causes suddenly not having internet via WLAN or LAN, even if you - Microsoft Community

hi

i have been using windows 10 since availed, having updated samsung laptop win 8.1.
i'm satisfied it.

there's issue, though have got, seems come out of blue , resists resolving using suggested solutions 1 can find , second time, think, forcing me use restoration point.

use wlan & lan in different networks.

& use windscribe vpn access sites no issue. time, turned off wlan, connected lan while using windscribe. many times. after while, turned off windcribe, , reverted lan wlan. noted had no internet via wlan & funny enough lan, after trying crosscheck, if had before.
made me panic ... disabled windscribe adapter, tried troubleshooting ... , got usual answers, problem dns , on. followed usual means of making sure dns & ip automatically obtained, , nothing had changed there.

@ 1 time, started getting troubleshooting results "security or firewall settings might blocking connection", did not after disabling them & "windows cannot communicate device or resource (primary dns server)".

google search results had among other things people recommending
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /all
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew
netsh int ip set dns
netsh winsock reset

etc ... in varying order (depending on source of solution), tried them repeatedly. after restarting, no change both wlan & lan, if connected, no internet - , said, settings set obtain ip & dns automatically, automatically obtaining/using network vpn settings [act], etc?

last time happened couple of weeks ago, no solution helped until forced use system restoration point. @ time, think windscribe not in play. @ time, had no internet via wlan, though connected, even if other folks around & in same network had internet.

a few days ago, did reset windows 10 home & otherwise have available windows & other program updates & drivers installed.
writing & trying out solutions find in vain, turned restoration point made 2 days ago, has got me internet again, it's annoying, because have cumbersome re-installations of programs.
it's time wasting going through this.

question is, causes internet fail, when windows shows connected via lan &/or wlan, that troubleshooting & above windows commands cannot resolve, when errors mentioned above, including "security or firewall settings might blocking connection" & "windows cannot communicate device or resource (primary dns server)" or should restart router & [nonsense i'm @ times university network, 1 cannot so, esp. if affected]?

had installed nothing, before came today, ... turned off wlan, used lan + windscribe vpn couple of minutes & turned off, disconnected lan, turned wlan on. .... no internet!!! said, no internet via same lan connection!

otherwise use windscribe everyday, wlan , lan, in different networks., no problem. that's why think it's not connected. windscribe not start windows, many times tried above solutions/commands, not on.

if there's different solution, other above, other restoration point use, please let me know. i'd understand causes problem have not yet understood leads yet.

as said, windows 10, latest build & version, current updates installed, same other programs, windows reset few days back, 8gb ram.

thank in advance.

hi,

it's possible issue due incompatible driver version, possible malware on computer, or network configuration issues. since you've tried of available troubleshooting steps network connection issues, recommend follow steps under roll network adapter driver , use network reset reinstall network devices in article: fix network connection issues in windows 10. remember read notes under use network reset reinstall network devices. also, try run full scan on computer make sure not because of possible malware on computer.

kindly if issue still persists after trying steps have provided.
