Facial Recognition not working for windows 10, version 1709 - Microsoft Community

hey windows friends,

so updated windows 10, version 1709 (kb4041994) on hp spectre x360 (15") , have found update has bug (or believe).

my sign-in computer linked facial recognition, , since updated computer couple days ago have noticed infrared lights camera not turn on, , not able sign in via facial recognition.

i have tried troubleshoot myself going settings, accounts, sign-in options, , scrolling down "improve recognition" button. once hit button prompted enter pin , there shows normal screen improving facial recognition, seems if camera not on, , infrared lights not turn on @ point either...

any appreciated have not received error messages related this, hence why think related bug in new update.

if above troubleshooting steps did not work, can try following methods below:

method 1: reset facial recognition.

  1. press windows key + i open settings.
  2. click accounts , select sign-in options.
  3. locate facial recognition options , click remove under them.
  4. click get started , follow on-screen instructions reset facial recognition.
  5. restart computer.

method 2: update drivers.

  1. right-click on windows key , select device manager.
  2. locate hello , webcam drivers individually , right-click on each of them.
  3. select remove driver software.
  4. repeat removal windows hello related drivers , restart computer.
  5. once done, open device manager, click action , select scan hardware changes.
  6. the system automatically detect , reinstall drivers.

if there no latest drivers found, can check manufacturer download , install latest camera driver.

let know status of issue.
