Black screen with boot up, automatic repair mode - Microsoft Community


hello,

i using windows 10 , computer lagging while using browser shut down restart it. when restart it goes automatic repair mode , goes dark doesnt restart or bring me sign in screen black screen. doesnt resond pressing f11 or f12 key or delete button. 

volunteers willing try resolve issue.

tough problem, however, below fix it.

boot in safe mode - device manager - display adapter - right click on
, uninstall (see more below).

reboot computer , blackscreen history.

try running startup repair windows 10 boot disk or usb drive.
work when running recovery environment
not. can try option 5 here , run startup repair see if helps.
need make bootable usb or dvd using media creation tool.

can make windows 10 install disk , try use repair present installation. not try clean install because if upgrade not activated few days clean install not activate.

make windows 10 disk using media creation tool - select install on computer , same version have now. can make usb or dvd boot with. select troubleshoot - advanced options - automatic repair.

here way try safe mode.

boot command prompt of boot disk. enter these bold commands , press enter after each.
(note colon after c no space; spaces important - 1 after t before / & t before { & } before b & y before l)

c:

bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy

exit

boot screen -> shutdown computer.

boot , "immediately" start tapping f8 (that means power button - f8).

should safe mode.

reverse can use same steps , type these (again note spaces)

c:

bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy standard

restart f8 not work now.
