Windows 10 update, speakers not working - Microsoft Community

hp notebook win10. latest update installed , internal speakers not working. audio jack working headphones , external speaker.

i have gone through fixes offered, troubleshooter, enhancements, uninstall driver, test sound. none of them have been fix.

since you've mentioned issue started after installing latest update, there possibility audio drivers may have updated. driver updates windows 10 , many devices should automatically downloaded , installed through windows update. while it's have recent driver, can try fixing by updating driver. here's how:

  1. select the start button, type device manager, , select list of results.
  2. expand 1 of categories find name of device, right-click (or tap , hold) it, , select update driver. graphics cards, expand the display adapters category, right click graphics card , select update driver.
  3. select search automatically updated driver software.
  4. if windows doesn't find new driver, can try looking 1 on device manufacturer's website , follow instructions.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
