hello - last ditch attempt help. i've tried contacting windows help, both requesting callback (never came) , scheduling call (also never came) asking community other option can see.
i'm using toshiba satellite laptop working fine till recent windows 10 update. every , randomly disconnect wifi before update, ran troubleshooting , reconnect no problem.
i can't remember exact date windows 10 update - after laptop froze when son using internet play friv , had turn off using power button. when reloaded had run pc repair , since connection wifi has been absolutely disgraceful. it's not 1 bar, it's first dot of wifi symbol , if take other room in house doesn't have router in it, won't connect @ all. in same room disconnects , have run troubleshooter multiple times reconnect. reasons given troubleshooter have included "dns server not responding", "no valid ip address" , comes showing there no problems still isn't connected wifi.
this has been since windows 10 update , i'm more little peeved thinking has happened laptop because of update. i've ran multiple virus scanners both free , paid , haven't brought problems. don't want lose laptop it's on year old!
have idea issue or how solve it?
oh followed vague advice running device manager , checking if of router drivers out of date - there few under network adaptors list, checked of them , came on every 1 saying recommended drivers installed.
in advance!
also, aside poor show windows callbacks... if you're not going bother calling people why bother having supposed service available?! >:(
hi piper,
it sounds issue internet service provider. experiencing similar issue using different wi-fi enabled device? if issue isolated windows 10 device, may try following steps. otherwise, contact internet service provider.
- run automated troubleshooter. go to settings > update & security > troubleshoot > network adapter.
- if issue persists, roll current wireless adapter. go to device manager > locate , right-click wireless network driver >properties > driver tab > roll driver. restart device.
- run these networking commands reset tcp/ip stack, release ip address, renew ip address, and flush , reset dns client resolver cache. launch command prompt (admin) , type following commands:
- netsh winsock reset and press enter.
- netsh int ip reset and press enter.
- ipconfig /release , press enter.
- ipconfig /renew , press enter.
- ipconfig /flushdns , press enter.
let know how goes.
