how find domain name in windows 10....and how join active domain

hello,

there ways view computer's domain name in windows 10. can follow steps below view computer's domain name (if computer connected domain):

  1. right-click on start button , select system.
  2. click on advance system settings link on left pane.
  3. on advance system settings window, can see domain column with domain name if computer connected domain or workgroup if computer connected workgroup.

to join active domain, need take note of following:

  • a user account on domain.
  • name of domain.
  • computer running windows 10 pro or enterprise/education editions.
  • domain controller must running windows server 2003 (functional level or later).

  1. on windows 10 pc go settings > system > about click join domain.
  2. enter domain name , click next.
  3. enter account information used authenticate on domain click ok.
  4. wait while computer authenticated on domain.
  5. click next.
  6. and you’ll need restart computer complete process.
  7. when sign in screen appears, notice domain\user account displayed. enter password , logged onto domain.

you notice once connected domain, the settings no longer list options presented before. because computer centrally managed server.
