Two systems, both freeze after Fall Creators update - Microsoft Community
we decided build our own budget gaming pc serve university work. in order create windows image new build, had update our laptop fall creators update (which huge issue , shouldn't requirement in first place). so, boot usb made, built computer worked fine. researched hardware avoid conflicts, , there none. .
so, new desktop boots fine. runs fine (until freezes). there network issues wifi dongle, it. however, lot of following error in event log:
"the application-specific permission settings not grant local activation permission com server application clsid {d63b10c5-bb46-4990-a94f-e40b9d520160} , appid {9ca88ee3-acb7-47c8-afc4-ab702511c276} user [...]" tried fix following suggested fix that, didn't fix it.
the main issue freezes. doesn't happen when computer idle, when keyboard being used, when mouse being used. took thing apart, double checked everything. it's not heat issue. fans working fine, we're getting great temps, during gaming. doesn't happen during gaming. can happen when working on word (if mouse something, onenote (again if use mouse), browsing or watching video (and click on something). reinstalled windows , activated retail key purchased microsoft. no fix. drivers updated hardware , bios. happens windows defender anti-malware or if install bitdefender.
in meantime, laptop being used more because don't have reliable desktop, , gets same error above, , started identical freezing. managed roll 1703, , far no error message or freezing. has convinced me main issue fall creators update. unfortunately, can't install older version of windows on newmachine rig it's not has earlier version. plus, since microsoft checked laptop before installing creators update means forced on me, , unless bug addressed, won't have functioning machine university work on, let alone use machine paid license , loads on hardware use.
so it's not malware/viruses. reinstalling windows fall creators update won't fix (but downgrading will). messing around uninstalling drivers build of windows doesn't work shouldn't paying customer has worry os. has persisted across more 1 machine , bug of *your* software.
in matter of fact, more people mentioning on different forums (including one).
i've said (remind me later in 3 days) , when did restart system, started update without permission given.
same thing creators update. expect microsoft should learn of commotion previous time.
guys should sued class action lawsuit action. hope happens , people start claiming well.
did game on 3 hours without issues stopped gaming. i've decided background tasks (music,downloading etc) leave 30 minutes-1 hour on desktop. did start watching television. whole machine freezes. unresponsive.it says critical messages (blank screen) , freezes. had manually press reset-button. i've started background tasks again (music,browsing,downloading etc) , continued stay , see happens. , yes within 20 minutes same occurred. time freeze slowly, keyboard lights when flickering/turned off , within 2 minutes whole system frozen. guess when ssd/hdd , network used, happens.
see no messages in eventviewer. see same dcom- error you, same mouse pointer warning thingie. believe dcom error happens on build 1703. see 1 aswell on other high-end system still on 1703 build.
if roll-back version 1703 (won't push update again me? ) because annoyed now.

did roll-back , changed gpo windows update settings notify before download , install.
applied other methods mentioned here (https://www.computerworld.com/article/3232632/microsoft-windows/how-to-block-windows-10-fall-creators-update-from-installing.html) on both of machines.
far rollback seems working without side-effects. don't it. might left traces. time learn if still functions should.
beta update stays away while. stop using people kinney pigs.
fair. withdraw build , drawing-table.
