i use surface pro 2 primary work device (self employed). have no problem connecting @ work through ethernet , having microsoft account sync (mail, store, cortana, etc.). when go home, wireless/wired network shows connected network microsoft accounts not sync. if open chrome, can connect internet other applications instagram don't connect.
everything worked fine until few days ago when device shut down unexpectedly , wasn't able turn on 15 minutes (thought toast).
trying find , old router test if works on network @ home.
any thoughts appreciated - have spent lot of time trying figure out.
let's hard reset of modem , router - power off modem, router, , computer - wait 3+ minutes power on modem - when running power on router - when running power on computer.
ensure router has latest firmware maker's site.
check cable modem wall , cable router - check cable router computer (best unplug of them , re-plug them in - not snug - little corrosion on connectors can cause havoc).
after above :
right click start button - command prompt (admin) or windows powershell - copy , paste these in 1 line @ time , hit enter after each (ignore errors) :
ipconfig /flushdns
nbtstat -r
nbtstat -rr
netsh int reset
netsh int ip reset
netsh winsock reset
netsh winsock reset catalog
restart computer

try updating driver :
make restore point : start - type in --> restore find @ top , click on - create
right click start button - device manager - network - write down make , model of wifi - double click on - driver's tab - write down version - click update driver - ok - right click on wifi device , uninstall - reboot - refresh driver stack.
please let know results.
