Internet continuously disconnecting. - Microsoft Community


for past 2 or 3 days, internet connection has been dodgy. have had go device manager every 2 hours , today each time go to my computer have had go device manager , scan hardware changes. when scan, nothing changes , i'm still disconnected , other times bluetooth icon comes , there more drop down features of network adapter. wifi bar not there when go on instead empty box red "x" in bottom corner.  keeps happening again , again. need permanent solution problem can take average of 60 minutes reconnect, longer.

solution: went nearest computer shop , bought new dongle wifi adapter , problem resolved

there several causes of intermittent wireless connection. issue can affected wireless settings on router, other wireless devices in setup, other wireless networks detected computer, wireless adapter on pc, among others.

we need clarify more details though, in order isolate concern.

  • how many computers connected wirelessly router?
  • are others working fine , pc having issue?
  • how many wireless networks detected pc?
  • when connected via ethernet cable router, pc work fine?

for initial troubleshooting, suggest deleting wireless  networks pc has connected in past including own network. reconnect network inputting correct password. action clearing caches on computer. observe wireless connection , let know how goes.
