Display and Project mode - Microsoft Community

i have had issued screen going blank when switching users.  started hitting windows key + p enter project mode , chose monitor only.  work.  1 day tried , resolution went wonky.  tried changing resolution recommended , fonts awful.   now try hit window key + p "your pc can't project screen. try reinstalling driver or using different video card." -- didn't make changes, why message.  used 4 options.   please me normal font/resolution on screen.  best resolution , not getting black screen when switch users.

moved from: windows / windows 10 / desktop, start, & personalization / desktop

option 1:

open start > settings > system > display
make sure recommended settings selected scale , layout , screen resolution.


thing can try:
uninstall display driver restart
boot windows 10 desktop
press windows key + x
click device manager
expand display adapters
right click current display adapter
click properties
click driver tab
click rollback driver if option available

if not
right click current display adapter
click uninstall
exit device manager
restart

if not work, try performing system restore before problem occurred.

recommend uninstall kb4048955, kb4048954 (windows 10 1703)

microsoft issued update several versions of windows 10: kb4048954, kb4048955 has caused issues display drivers. if know make , model of computer, can try manually reinstalling driver manufacturers website video driver.

press windows key + r
type: appwiz.cpl
hit enter
click view installed updates
select recent update
(this update want uninstall kb4048955)

right click click uninstall.

restart see if stability restored.

update might try install again. so, try blocking it.

there option or work around block updates or hardware drivers might cause problems?
yes, microsoft has released kb update (kb3073930) let users block or hide windows or driver updates.

can download @ following link:

if icons , toolbars, go start > settings > system > display
click in scale , layout list box, try scale such 125 see if works or play around custom scaling.

option 2:

perform repair upgrade

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance.
