Network and internet settings problem - Microsoft Community

hi all. after recent updates windows 10 downloaded , installed, lap top stopped connecting web automatically. connects web on initial start up, disconnect fast. when click on modem icon, (in lower right cnr, next date , time) network , internet window opens , found along line update has change preferences connect automatically connect manually. have tried various things fix problem, including deleting adaptor settings, setting them fresh, windows 10 seems change connect automatically connect manually again. in settings, under wifi tab, show set connect automatically when in range, doesn't.

i tried contact tech support problem, ststed me had pay services, yet problem has caused microsoft in first instance. should not have pay fix problem caused 1 of recent updates.

hopefully 1 out there has had similar problem , in turn can me resolve mine.

hi,

an outdated or incompatible network adapter driver can cause connection problems. if upgraded windows 10 or updates installed, it's possible current driver designed previous version of windows. check see if updated driver available.

  1. in search box on taskbar, type device manager, , select device manager list of results.
  2. in device manager, select network adapters > network adapter name.
  3. press , hold (or right-click) the network adapter, , select update driver > search automatically updated driver software. follow steps, select close.
  4. after installing updated driver, select start button > power  > restart if you're asked restart, , see if fixes connection issue.

if windows can’t find new driver network adapter, visit pc manufacturer’s website , download latest network adapter driver there. you’ll need know pc manufacturer , model name or number.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance.
