No speaker sound for non admin users - Microsoft Community


hej.

windows 10 home (64), version 10.0.15063 updated of today (21 sep 2017)   on asus v230ic.

if use administrator account have sound both built in speakers , when plug in headphones have sound in them.

but if login non admin acccount have no sound speakers have sound in headphones, when plugged in.

i have been in contact asus support did not solution other "reinstall".

so reinstalled using reinstall option in w10, did not resolve problem. number of asus applications got installed in "reinstall".

reinstalled again time microsoft dvd clean install no asus applications.

ok, had download , install asus driver sound card:

  • realtek audio driver v6.0.1.7647
    asus audio sound control driver v1.00.02

but same problem.

more testing:

  1. start computer
  2. login administrator, speaker sound ok
  3. switch non admin account, speaker sound ok
  4. reboot computer
  5. login non admin account, no speaker sound, headphones ok, when connected.

and yes, have used windows troubleshooter did not solve problem.

any suggestion?

hej.

no realtek can found in device manager.

uninstalled , reboot.

logging in admin, no sound.

updated "!" devices. got: (sorry have swedish system)

no sound admin.

reboot

no sound admin.

reinstalled asus audio_sound_control_v10002. accepted reboot after installation.

sound admin.

swithed "non admin" account non admin.

reboot

loggin "no admin", no sound.

switched admin account, have sound

logged out , logged in non admin account

sound ok.

    I have a ASUS ET2323IUK All-In-One computer with the exact same problem as you.
    Standard account do not have sound, until Admin account logged in first, after a reboot.
    I believe I read your long thread on https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/no-speaker-sound-for-non-admin-users/796d03c6-332e-4a41-b491-e68e572c40ad? aswell, but could not see that you actually got any answers.
    Did you ever get an solution to this problem?
