windows 10 1703 installs generic hd sound driver, limits functionality of hardware , software minimal 

function.

i have idt sound chip amd hd (hdmi) audio, amd driver not affected far can tell.

the idt basic windows 10 driver did work when switching speakers external sound when plugged in.

yes, idt has been bought out , no longer supplies drivers longer, oem may still provide

full idt driver.

i got driver (win8) hp support page g7 laptop.

running installer win displayed message code c , possible issues using it,

ignoring warning, driver installed correctly.

all functions of original driver , software should , have not had issues.

i have seen win10 1703 brake more audio drivers other os microsoft or linux in past 

twenty years.

this includes hdmi, analog , digital formats on cpu's, motherboard audio chipset, , physical cards.

windows 10 install latest driver via windows update. install latest drivers listed on microsoft update catalog. since computer installs generic driver, it's possible driver developer of device hasn't yet sent updated driver our microsoft update catalog website.

resolve concern, can hardware , devices troubleshooter following steps provided below:

  1. on start menu, type troubleshooting, , hit enter.
  2. choose hardware , sound.
  3. select , run hardware , devices troubleshooter.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
