Cannot turn down brightness in Windows 10, the option does not even - Microsoft Community


i cannot find way @ change/turn down screen brightness. settings-device- display not have brightness option. also, nothing shows in search bar. know option supposed there , others have it, have seen screen shots, etc etc etc. not there. went through answer desk team, updated drivers, , nothing changed. yes, i've done 

windows key + x and select device manager., 2. expand monitors from list.3. right click on driver , select properties

4. under driver tab, check if driver enabled. if not, enable driver , check for status. has been tried. have updated graphics card drivers. have installed drivers monitor new disc.

nothing works, , again, the brightness option not showing supposed be. please this.

windows 10 home

 version 1703

os build 15063.674

processor amd 870k quad processor3.60 ghz

64 bit, x64 based lenovo

new monitor hp 23.8 inch led monitor 24w

moved from:  windows / windows 10 / desktop, start, & personalization / pc

there 2 ways on how change screen brightness in windows 10 computer. check these steps:

method 1.

go start > settings > system > display > change brightness. adjust slider desired brightness.

method 2.

go control panel> hardware , sound > power options. there should slider @ bottom of control panel window. choose desired light adjusting slider.

change brightness slider might not visible on desktop computers have external monitor. using buttons on monitor can change brightness.

may update display driver if slider doesn't appear. follow these steps:

  1. type device manager in cortana search.
  2. select device manager , choose display adapters.
  3. right-click display adapter name, select properties.
  4. choose driver tab, click update driver , hit ok.
