Screen resolution not allowed by Win10 - Microsoft Community

i restarted hp desktop (p7-1010) after norton security requested it.  found external hp monitor showing wrong resolution: stretched wide , bit blurry.

on startup, monitor tries "auto-adjust" 1600 x 900 pixels windows won't let it.

also, in settings, windows 10 offers 1280 x 1024, 1024 x 768, or 800 x 600, of useless.

all drivers appear dat.

i did windows update latest version, problem not resolved.

q: how windows allow monitor auto-adjust 1600 x 900 px?

(also, , maybe connected, noticed there no "sleep" option on start menu!)
