Learning the "Net Start" command - Microsoft Community


so i'm messing around command prompt using "net start" command learn how works , when try start process isn't running(according services applet) indicates requested service has been started. idea why?

as test used "work folders" service seemed relatively innocuous.

also, after seeing didn't "start" service in services tab, right-clicked , hit start, , voila, showed running. @ point tried "net stop" command "net stop work folders" , received error message stating "the syntax of command is: " followed syntax matched typed.

any input appreciated. again, me trying learn these commands.

volunteers willing try resolve issue.
