Speech Recognition in Windows 10 - Microsoft Community

hi, i'm trying train pc better understand voice , use speech tutorial in windows 10.

when first installed windows 10 had no problems part of speech racognition or cortana.

i haven't used of them while until having 3 issues.

iaaue 1 can use speech recognition fine dictate pc , quicker typing in word or other documenting software pc not understand me , puts wrong words in wrong sentences makes typing lot faster.

i have tried using several different suggested techniques try resolve problem have not had luck.

i have speech recognition set start when power pc , log in have right click on speech recognition icon , select wish do.

i have both pc , speech set english uk live in uk!

when right click in speech recognition icon select start speech tutorial link being taken to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14213/windows-how-to-use-speech-recognition how use speech recognition not giving me answers resolve problem page showing windows 7 , 8.1, not windows 10, start speech tutorial seems missing speech recognition , not work.

issue 2 when right click on  the speech recognition icon left click on configuration link improve voice recognition window pops , says "

welcome speech recognition voice training

 

by listening read aloud computer, speech recognition learns how speak.

 

some training text displayed on next page. when training text appears, read aloud in natural tone.

 

the system display 1 line @ time. when have finished reading line, system will, after short pause, automatically present next line.

 

if system doesn’t understand read, skip next line. normal , not cause concern.

 

click next begin training.

note: recommend take speech recognition tutorial first. in addition improving recognition of voice, tutorial gives opportunity learn important speech recognition commands.

 

it shows next , cancel in boxes @ lower right side of window.

i left click on next box , window opens displays following message.

speech training not configured properly. please go speech recognition control panel, click on advanced options , set microsoft speech recogniser 8.0 system language default recogniser.

 

a box finish displayed on lower right of window.

 

i have added screenshots of stages happening can seen step step, when go speech recognition control panel , try set windows 8.0 recogniser being given choice of either 8.0 or uk  8.0, screenshots show.

 

is there programming missing system , way can sort problem out becoming nuisance when trying use speech write important documents , court statements.

 

issue 3 using cortana, when first installed windows 10 had “hey cortana” , cortana wake , listen said or commanded when “hey cortana nothing happens, instead have click on mic icon on right of search box wake cortana , able give 1 command or 1 sentence , cortana goes in sleep mode, have keep on clicking on mic icon wake cortana.

any in resolving these issues appreciated.

based on details have provided, possible issue due cortana not picking command correctly or hardware has issue. however, need make sure case. recommend record voice and check if recorded voice has no issue , picked perfectly. if recorded voice has no issues, kindly reset cortana and check if there changes. reset cortana, kindly refer a. user's answer regarding query of stephen entitled "how hard reset cortana or prompt mic setup?" 

if issue persists, can perform "custom installation" and check if issue gone. 

update on how goes.
