Creating Local account problem - Microsoft Community

i running hp laptop using win 10.  went settings admin , created local account grandson.  seemed go fine. logged out , went sign in screen. new account listed, clicked on it. came , asked password. entered password , enter.  little wheel came spinning , said welcome, seconds later said signing out , never opened account.  have tried different account names, different passwords , no password required. no luck. have local accounts created awhile , work find. used windows key plus r run control userpasswords2 create account, no luck. needed.

a repair install [also called on in-place upgrade] might or might not should not harm. 

a repair install not affect user accounts directly might problem because being caused else.

this bit of shot in dark try same solution have recommended different fault symptoms in new user account - see recommendation in cannot create new user account can login.
