autoplaying of videos - how to turn it off - Microsoft Community

my dataplan usage skyrocketing, , lot of videos autoplaying on msn websites, facebook, etc.    windows 10, when go msn homepage, videos start launching whenever @ sports news, etc.   how can turn off "auto playing" of videos??     thanks!!

which internet browser use when go msn website?

the reason asked because disabling videos playing automatically on websites varies each browser.

you might need combine number of approaches deal because websites nowadays uses different methods playing media.

if want stop videos playing automatically in chrome, internet explorer, firefox, have to:

  •  use browser extension.
  •  change browser configuration settings
  •  disable flash & html5.

if you're using microsoft edge browser, here's how disable auto-playing of videos:

1. go internet options in control panel

2. there 7 tabs @ top - go "programs" tab

3. select "manage add-ons"

4. find , click on "adobe systems incorporated - shockwave activex control". @ lower right hand corner of window can found button disable it.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
