Windows shows the total amount of RAM incorrectly - Microsoft Community

i needed revive, project older pc uses ddr2 of ram.

pc has 2gb of ram. installed windows 10 32 bit fall creator update. turned off cortana, disabled indexing, disabled background apps , turned off , visual effects , works great considering pc's age. however, in system properties windows says pc has 4gb of ram , 1,97 usable. it's not true, computer has 2 1gb ddr2 memory sticks, 1 in each slot, total 2gb. 'cause older pcs one, have 2 memory (ram) slots. pc old pentium 4, 3ghz of speed.

why windows incorrectly shows total amount of memory under system properties? have not changed anything, , windows automatically managing virtual memory. have checked in msconfig , ok. microsoft basic display adapter? can't find drivers older chipset compatible windows 10. last available drivers vista. it's , via_s3g-unichrome-pro-igp chipset. model pm4800-m7.

and, no, pc has no viruses or spyware cause pc not connected internet , have never ever shared files anyone.

so possibility of virus , spyware zero.

thanks can help.

both memory modules same speed?

also, press windows key + r
type: msconfig
hit enter

go boot tab > advanced options > make sure maximum memory unchecked

click ok click apply ok
