Wifi Networks Not Displaying - Microsoft Community

hi all,

built 2 identical brand new computers , have been experiencing serious networking issues on both.

the computers

the computers built scratch, , have windows 10 home 64-bit on both. being used basic office tasks in shared office building. there wireless router in same room computers (owned building owners), , 1 ethernet port being used voip phone. here specs:

mobo: msi b250m pro-vdh
cpu: intel pentium g4560
ram: 1x8gb ddr4
graphics: n/a
storage: 1x 256gb ssd (main drive), 1x 1tb hd (storage)

both computers had pcie wifi card installed, however, after experiencing significant issues getting work, returned cards , purchased 2 usb wifi adaptors.

the problem

initially, usb adaptors worked fine in both pc's. however, on time, started experience issues usb's. lose connection network, or not connect @ all. fixed restarting computer, or disabling , re-enabling adaptor. both pc's experienced same issues, @ different times (e.g. 1 might working when other isn't, , vice versa).

currently, cannot connect wifi @ all. network either (1) not appear in list of available networks, or (2) appear, unable connect and, following unsuccessful connection attempt, network disappear list. further, appears several other wireless networks should appearing in list not (my laptop shows around 10 wifi networks in area; 3 visible pc).

issue has come , gone several times, things fixing @ times , other times not (e.g. when issue first appeared, able solve disabling wifi adaptor , re-enabling it).

both computers work fine when connected ethernet port, or when using phones tethered internet connection via usb . have laptop (windows 10 64-bit) , phone (samsung galaxy s7) @ office, both of able connect local wifi network without issues.

there have been several different bsod's along way (mostly page_fault_in_nonpaged_area , bad_pool_caller), majority of have referred network drivers (either rtwlanu.sys, wdiwifi.sys or ntoskrnl.exe). can provide of .dmp files, if necessary.

attempted fixes

i have tried following:
1. updating drivers wifi adaptor in device manager;
2. manually downloading , installing latest drivers wifi adaptor manufacturers website;
3. uninstalling adaptor in device manager;
4. plugging adaptor different usb port;
5. unplugging other external devices (the things connected pc's mouse, keyboard, , 2 monitors);
6. running memtest86 (completed 4 passes no errors);
7. performing "clean boot" per https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows;
8. connecting phone's hotspot via wifi (the phone not appear in list of available networks).

there may few other things have tried, forgotten include - apologies in advance.

there information missing, don't want longer is!

if can help, incredible - @ wits end!

thank - started working way through these steps, doing so, colleague appears have found solution.

she plugged usb hub computer (for unrelated reasons), , plugged wifi adaptor hub, , worked fine. have bought second usb hub, plugged other adaptor other computer hub, , appears working fine. perhaps sort of usb port/compatibility issue? if issue returns, let know , try rest of troubleshooting suggestions.
