School account not interfering with my inability to sync settings - Microsoft Community

have school account connected dell inspiron 7558, still can't sync settings after tried removing it. error message says should contact administrator resolve problem, am. issue remains after quite package of bug fixes in regard fall creators update's release on october 17!

hi,

this issue syncing settings may happen if computer still connected domain.

since said you've contacted administrator already, we'd know steps they've performed or troubleshooting steps took place.

also, we'd ask if sync settings option available or grayed out in settings:

  1. press windows key + to open settings.
  2. click accounts.
  3. select sync settings.
  4. check if sync settings option available.

we'll keep eye out response.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
