Photo, Groove Music not working after update - Microsoft Community

my photo app, groove music stop working after these updates. photo app closed after open. said ' remote procedure call failed' . 

had reset windows few times. run ok until updates installed. tried few times. , believe wrong updates. 

this not happen photo , groove, apps store. 

help me solve problem. thank you.

"the remote procedure call failed" error appears when remote procedure call (rpc) service has been disabled. we'd learn more concern provide proper resolution. have few questions you:

  • which build version of windows 10 on computer? check, click start, type winver, , press enter. example, 14393.1066.
  • are using third-party antivirus program?

in meantime, recommend setting remote procedure call (rpc) service automatic following these steps:

  1. click start.
  2. type services.msc , right-click result.
  3. click run administrator. if prompt appears, click yes.
  4. find remote procedure call (rpc) service list.
  5. right-click , choose properties.
  6. change startup type automatic.
  7. click ok.
  8. restart computer.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance. ...
