Computers disappeared from network - Microsoft Community

problem: cannot share files between 2 computers on same network anymore - computers have disappeared "network" in windows explorer on both ends. both computers using windows 10.

the files still shared, same have been years.

i can ping both ways across network.

network discovery on on both computers.

file , printer sharing enabled.

computers have no connectivity problems aside not being visible.

computers still not visible when windows firewall disabled, when antivirus disabled, , when router firewall disabled.

homegroup has been bugged since windows 10 update, cannot used. (computer sees homegroup join, hosted when still running windows 8, computer cannot join homegroup hosts, , cannot host homegroup while it's trying join one. none of works anyone.) sharing files via network has been working since windows 10 update until couple weeks ago when computers vanished windows explorer. what's funny have software relies on network sharing access host computer , works fine. seem connected, can't see files access them.

based on outcome, issue have requires more advanced troubleshooting. in case, recommend forum active community members , pros provide additional assistance. post concern microsoft technet forum, click link.

kind regards.
