Unable to Sync My Settings in Windows 10 - Microsoft Community

i have new tablet , older laptop. on laptop, sync settings feature turned on. on tablet, buttons grayed out, can't use them. second tablet i've had in last month. first 1 had issue, , replaced. however, able sync one. know because had same wallpaper laptop. new tablet, though, can't sync it, said. tried resetting, reinstalled windows 10, didn't work.

how can fixed?

this kind of issue occurs because of system setting misconfiguration. great if can tell more concern. please verify following:

  • are getting error messages?
  • what troubleshooting steps have done far?
  • have installed latest updates windows 10 both devices?
  • what version , build number of windows 10 devices?

to check latest update windows 10, click start button, go settings > update & security > windows update, , select check updates. click start button, type about pc, , press enter find out version , build number of windows 10 pc.

hello, so bought new laptop came windows 10 pre-installed. when unpacking, store clerk created dummy local account used when starting first time - make process faster syncing microsoft account, can sync later - said. anyway, done , welcomed desktop. synced microsoft account , went in. synced right away - down wallpapers , themes - save 1 thing; the account name. it still using dummy local account name, despite picture has changed account picture. clicked 'sign in microsoft account instead', , process failed in end. said "[my e-mail account] here already. user in device uses microsoft account, can't add here" i tried removing e-mail & app account under 'e-mail & app account' tab , when tried again, still didn't work. please, want name here. oh, , don't know topic should fall - there's no 'sync' specifically, pick 1 think closest. sorry in advance.
