I cannot connect internet, please help. - Microsoft Community

hello

i using windows 10. networks&internet icon disappeared taskba. when go setting>networks&internet>status>show available networks, nothing happened.

in windows start screen need login, there networks&internet icon in bottom right corner cross on it. when click on it says no connections available.

i tried reinstalling wireless network adapter in device manager didn't work. tried "netsh wlan show profile" in cmd, said "the wireless autoconfig service (wlansvc) not running".

noting details have provided.

this caused several different reasons. issue network servers or device or conflicts between programs , applications.

let's run network troubleshooter , see if trick.

to this: select start button, select settings > network & internet > status > network troubleshooter under change network settings.

sometimes firewall software might prevent getting connected. can see if connection issue caused firewall turning off temporarily , trying visit website trust.

to turn off firewalls:

1. in search box on taskbar, type command prompt, press , hold (or right-click) command prompt, , select run administrator > yes.
2. at command prompt, type netsh advfirewall set allprofiles state off, , press enter.
3. open web browser , visit website trust , see if can connect it.
4. to turn on firewalls might have installed, @ command prompt, type netsh advfirewall set allprofiles state on, , press enter.

if find firewall software causing connection issues, contact software manufacturer or visit website check , see if updated software available.

if you're using windows 10 version 1607 or later (to see version of windows 10 device running, select start button, select settings  > system > about.), try resetting network or reinstall network devices.

1. select start  button, select settings  > network & internet  > status > network reset.
2. on network reset screen, select reset now > yes confirm.

   wait pc restart , see if fixes problem.

notes:

after using network reset, might need reinstall , set other networking software might using, such vpn client software or virtual switches hyper‑v (if you're using or other network virtualization software).

 

network reset might set each 1 of known network connections public network profile. in public network profile, pc not discoverable other pcs , devices on network, can make pc more secure. however, if pc part of homegroup or used file or printer sharing, you’ll need make pc discoverable again setting use private network profile. this, go settings > network & internet  > wi-fi . on wi-fi screen, select manage known networks > network connection want change > properties. under network profile, select private.
